Expo 2020 Workers Monument

Asif Khan was commissioned with conceiving and designing a unique permanent monument to the workers who contributed to the construction of Expo 2020. The resulting Worker’s Monument is a work of elegant simplicity involving over 200,000 names engraved on to 38 sculptural columns. As is so often the case, such seemingly effortless execution actually required an extremely high level of design, fabrication, and construction precision founded on an exhaustive sampling and prototype approach.
